Ghana Plans To Import Fuel From Dangote Refinery

Ghana is considering importing petroleum products from Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery to reduce its reliance on costly European imports.

Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Chairman of Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority, announced this potential shift at the OTL Africa Downstream conference in Lagos, stating that it could save the country $400 million monthly.

The Dangote refinery, which began producing petrol in September 2024, is expected to reach full capacity by early 2025.
