Governor Charles Soludo has encouraged residents to adopt farming as a means to countering the rising cost of food items and the economic challenges facing the nation.

The Governor gave the advice yesterday, during the 2024 Anambra State New Yam Festival (Iwa Ji) held at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.

Governor Soludo highlighted the significance of the Iwa Ji festival in Igbo culture, noting it as a symbol of the end of the agricultural season and a time for thanksgiving for the year’s harvest.

He urged households across Anambra State to adopt the “Farm to Feed” initiative, advocating production of local foods such as to reduce market dependence.
