
Governor Soludo Presents N607 Billion Budget For 2025
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has unveiled a draft budget of N607 billion for 2025, titled “Changing Gears 2.0.”
This budget reflects a 48% increase from the previous year’s N410 billion. Soludo allocated N139.5 billion for recurrent expenditure and N467.5 billion for capital projects, emphasizing that 77% of the budget is dedicated to capital investment.
The governor highlighted plans for significant investments in education, health, and infrastructure, aiming to enhance the state’s appeal to investors.
He also reiterated commitments to free education and human capital development as key priorities for his administration

Civil Society Organizations in Anambra State are advocating for increased citizen involvement in budgeting and public hearings.
During a visit to the Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Public Account, Ugochi Freeman, Team Lead of the Media Accountability and Anticorruption Initiative, emphasized that enhanced public participation fosters trust, accountability, and improved tax compliance.
The group is pushing for the review of the Fiscal Responsibility Law and the establishment of an Anti-Corruption Commission to combat corruption.
Hon. Noble Igwe, Chairman of the Public Account Committee, assured that the Assembly is committed to promoting transparency and will expedite relevant legislation to support these initiatives
