The two Reverend Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ, and the Anambra High Court Judge kidnapped last week have been released.
The Reverend Sisters, Vincentia Maria Nwankwo and Grace Mariette Okoli, were abducted on their way home after attending a meeting, while the judge, whose name was withheld, was kidnapped on Saturday while entering his house in Awka.
A source close to the family confirmed that the judge was released on Sunday, barely 24 hours after his abduction, sparking widespread jubilation among sympathisers who have been thronging his residence since the incident.
The release of the kidnapped victims has brought relief to the people of Anambra State, who have been living in fear of kidnappings and other violent crimes in recent times.
