The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to accountability in the ongoing tax reform bills before the National Assembly.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the minister welcomed the nationwide debate on the reform, describing it as a hallmark of democracy. He urged Nigerians to engage respectfully and avoid misinformation or ethnic biases in discussions.

Idris assured that the fiscal reforms aim to empower states and local governments, boost economic growth, and improve citizens’ welfare without imposing additional burdens. He highlighted Tinubu’s directive for the Federal Ministry of Justice to address public concerns through collaboration with the National Assembly.

The minister emphasized that resources conserved through reforms would be invested in critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure, aligning with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda to ensure no Nigerian is left behind.
