The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has clarified that there is no directive requiring federal workers to change the financial institutions associated with their Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) accounts. In a statement from Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations, the OAGF reassured employees that IPPIS prioritizes their welfare and will not introduce any policy likely to create confusion.

This clarification comes in response to concerns that recent system upgrades at some banks might lead to instructions for employees to change their salary accounts. The OAGF emphasized that any decision to change a salary account remains personal to each worker, and no general directive has been issued to mandate such changes.

The OAGF also urged banks to strengthen customer trust by maintaining reliable service for those who choose to domicile their salaries with them. It further expressed confidence in the regulatory bodies responsible for evaluating the stability of financial institutions, encouraging them to ensure sound practices within the sector.

Employees who need to update their salary accounts on the IPPIS platform were advised to follow the official procedures for such modifications.
